The Personal Care Assistant provides various personal care and related paraprofessional services in accordance with an established plan of care. Provides for the personal needs and comfort of clients in their homes. As a caregiver with Right at Home, you will build relationships, expand the quality of life, and support the senior population who need affection and care. Your purpose will be to help these individuals enjoy life by supporting them throughout their daily activities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF A PERSONAL CARE ASSISTANT
· Adheres to Agency policies and procedures.
· Performs work under the supervision of the Supervisor.
· Performs personal care activities contained in a written assignment by the Supervisor which includes but is not limited to, assisting the client with activities of daily living, such as:
o Personal hygiene (assisting to bathroom or in using bedpan, bathing, care of mouth, skin and hair)
o Ambulation
o Eating
o Dressing
o Shaving
o Meal Preparation
· Performs other assigned activities that are taught by a nurse for a specific client. These include but not limited to:
o Assisting with the change of ostomy appliances
o Reinforcement of dressings (non-sterile)
o Assisting with the use of devices for aid to daily living (cane, walker, wheelchair or lift device)
o Assisting with prescribed range of motion exercises
o Assisting with self-administered simple urine tests for sugar acetone or albumin (Personal Care Assistant may not interpret results)
o Measuring and preparing special diets
o Measuring intake and output
o Taking vital signs (temperature, pulse, respirations and blood pressure)
o Application of an external (condom-type) catheter
o Assist with application of arm sling, arm splint or leg splint

Requirements:
· Must have a valid driver’s license with reliable transportation
· Must be able to pass a background check
· Must be able to pass a drug screen test
Offering Hours: Charlotte, Lake Norman, Huntersville, and the surrounding areas.
Hours needed: 4 / 8 / 12 hour shifts available
