Position Summary:
The Biologist II is responsible for helping develop innovative, game-changing therapies for the treatment of inflammatory, autoimmune, and fibrotic diseases and their associated complications using cell-based assays and molecular biology techniques with an emphasis on Imaging and Flow Cytometry.
What You’ll Do:
Understand cell and molecular biology to establish cell-based assays and facilitate the identification and characterization of targets that play a role in inflammatory, autoimmune, and fibrotic diseases. Responsible for Flow Cytometry, Fluorescent microscopy, and Confocal microscopy Understand molecular biology techniques such as: Immunohistochemistry, PMBC Prep Data interpretation & troubleshooting/optimization of predefined methods Record data in electronic notebooks Data presentation during regular staff meetings Participate and assist with new technology onboarding and set up General lab maintenance Troubleshoot and perform method validation Draft job aids and protocolsWhat You'll Need:
Candidates need to be self-starters; capable of working independently and directing their own day-to-day workload with minimal supervision Strong written and oral communications skills. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Critical thinking and proactive communication and escalation Enthusiastic to learn new technologiesEducation and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Biology or closely related field Minimum of two (2) years of cell biology experience either through an industry or academic research position Experience in data analysis and results interpretation Minimum of two (2) years of experience in Flow Cytometry, with Fluorescent microscopy and Confocal microscopyAn equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted in lieu of above.
