Student Worker - Admissions Ambassador - Federal Work Study

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

This position is in the Admissions Department and supports the administrative and student recruiting operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Handle routine office functions including, but not limited to, answering phones, greeting visitors, and providing assistance as required; assist with completion of forms; basic data entry; file, copy and scan documents.Assist in performing campus tours for prospective students and their families. Assist in the preparation and execution of special events. Maintain current knowledge of all University rules, regulations, and procedures. Assist in dissemination of information about Florida Polytechnic University. Performed other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge of standard office machines and equipment.Skill in English composition, grammar, spelling, and punctuation.Skill in typing/word processing and use of personal computer/software, especially Microsoft Outlook, Work, Excel, and PowerPoint.Customer service skills and ability to work as member of a team important.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Complete a current year, error free and verified, Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).Demonstrate Finance Need, through completion of the FAFSA and review of current financial aid awards.Meet Satisfactory Academic Progress, as defined by Florida Polytechnic University (link to SAP Policy).Must hold a valid driver’s license.

REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, AND/OR OTHER SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS OF LAW:

This position requires a criminal background check.This position is subject to federal and state privacy regulations.

EXPECTED STARTING SALARY: $12.25 hourly up to 20 hours per week during the fall and spring terms as approved by supervisor; up to 40 hours per week during the summer as approved by supervisor.
