The at seeks a creative, student-focused leader to serve as Chair of our vibrant and growing department beginning August 2024 (tenure-track, rank open based on qualifications). Ability to teach graphic design strongly preferred. Set in a small college, liberal arts environment, the department's broad curriculum and unique student opportunities set it apart. 20-station design lab Regular large-scale art projects Access to the College's professional art collection and student award collection Recently updated gallery and photography studio spaces Wood-fired, propane and electric kilns Funding for student trips to major cities Collaboration with Department of Art History Connections to a thriving local arts community Opportunities for innovative curriculum development and interdisciplinary collaboration Four-week May Term and support for faculty-led study away programs

Minimum Qualifications

MFA or other relevant terminal degree Commitment to employing inclusive pedagogy and valuing diversity of student identities, scholarship, learning and creative performance Evidence of creative accomplishments College level teaching experience Excellence in written and interpersonal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

Ability to teach graphic design Experience teaching in a liberal arts college environment Professional experience in design Leadership/management experience in academic or professional setting
