Job Summary:

The Pharmacy Technician assists the pharmacist in preparation and delivery of pharmaceuticals. Communicates with nursing. Performs auditing and other tasks as assigned. Checks assigned areas for expirations monthly.

Requirements:

High school diploma or GED. Minimum 3 years of clinical experience in a related field preferred Pharmacy Tech certification preferred May be expected to meet certain state certifications Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Background clearance as requires by state and federal guidelines

Job Responsibilities:

Accurate and timely filling of patient medication orders, stock orders, narcotic orders, intravenous medication orders and delivery of those orders. Accurate and timely entry of patient charges and credits. Provides technical assistance for routine preparation of parenteral admixture products, medication cart fills, ADM stocking, and delivery of medications. Works under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist following approved departmental policies and procedures. Abides by state, federal, and corporate regulations in the performance of all duties. Supportive of all cost containment strategies including ordering of stock in conjunction with the pharmaceutical buyer.
