JOB TITLE: Research Lab Aid
JOB PURPOSE:
The Research Lab Aid will gain valuable experience in setting up and organizing new research labs and learning how research labs function.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assisting in clean up and organization of research laboratories and the associated equipment. Categorizing lab equipment and labeling storage areas, thereby learning about lab equipment names and functions. Assisting with tasks associated with experimentation, such as cleaning glassware, preparing media and solutions.COMPETENCIES:
Ability to break up large tasks into small goals and work independently Interest in working in a research lab Ability to follow safety protocols and to safely lift and carry heavy pieces of equipment Excellent organizational and communication skills Experience in cleaning jobs is a plusREMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY: This position provides vital support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate be available to work on campus.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Current UW student studying chemistry, biology, or related sciences
