Meet the team:

Hardware Product Owners(HPO) are the linchpin of the hardware R&D organization and are accountable for the technical execution& success of Dexcom’s hardware products. The HPOwill be responsible for setting technical direction for the products, leading the cross functional teams through all phases of product development,drive system level technical decisions, andspearheadrisk identification & mitigation activities.This role will directlyinterface withsenior management to ensure alignment with business and organizational needs.

Where you come in:

You will own end to end delivery of all aspects of hardware engineering to enable new products and programs.

You will create strategic and tactical plans to achieve organizational goals;and lead a cross functional team through their day-to-day operations to achieve said goals.

You will provide ‘voice-of-function’ in cross-functional decision making

You will be accountable for the functional deliverables; works with extended teams to generate and review deliverables

You will maintain linkages to functional area to ensure application of best practices, policies, business processes, etc.

You will lead functional reviews and contribution to the end to end development program through coordination of the extended team(s)

Mediate technical discussions and decisions

Balance technical requirements with project cost, timeline and scope.

You will provide functional expertise to assist team in making optimal business decisions and recommendations

What makes you successful:

Industry leadingexpertise inone or more hardware engineering domains, with demonstrated ability to lead highly technical multi-disciplinary engineeringteams (EE, PD, FW, Sensors, Materials, Process, OPS, and QA).

Proven track record in managing and executing through all stages of product development life cycle

Ability to align goals and coordinateactivities between product management, hardware engineering, systems engineering, quality, regulatory, operations, testing, and documentation.

Ability to work in a deadline-driven and fast-paced environment including managing multiple projects

Ability to deal with ambiguity –effectively and efficiently navigate ambiguity to translategoals into clear strategic milestones and tactical execution plans.

Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate, build relationships, and lead multi-disciplinary teams in a matrix environment.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey numerous and complex technical information clearly & effectively in small and large settings and at all levels in the organization, including senior management. 

Emotional intelligence - Proven ability to handle interpersonal relationships efficiently and empathetically to motivate, influence, and manage conflict within cross functional teams.

Education and Experience:

Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline, and a minimum of 15+ years related experience or a Master’s degree and 10+ years equivalent industry experience or a PhD and 7+ years of experience.
