I am the medical director for the Sound Physicians emergency medicine (EM) practice at Via Christi Manhattan, in Manhattan, Kansas. I’ve been a part of Sound for the past three years and the emergency medicine team for the past seven years. Join our established, close-knit team of six physicians and two practice providers. We value humor, persistence, and a family-like bond, taking a genuine interest in each other’s lives. All clinicians in the group, physicians and APPs, work and communicate well with each other. We thrive on the diversity of our clinicians, hailing from diverse geographic, educational, and training backgrounds. Many of us are active on hospital committees, including the medical executive committee, that helps solidify our relationships with specialists and our very supportive administration. Clinicians can champion specific projects that help improve care, such as working to update current order sets. Practice
Our community-based hospital has an 18-bed emergency department serving over 24,000 annual visits. We’re looking for board-certified/eligible emergency medicine physicians or family medicine physicians with emergency medicine experience. Currently, our shift times are 7 am-3 pm, 3 pm-10 pm, and 9 pm-7 am. These shorter shifts have proven to enhance clinician performance, reduce stress, and increase willingness to support a busy ER environment. We have strong subspecialty support and imaging services, ensuring comprehensive patient care. Regular monthly meetings, both remote and in-person, foster engagement and provide a platform for feedback. Expected annual salary based on 144 hours per month is $449,000. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life and AD&D insurance, long- and short-term disability, 401k with match, paid medical malpractice and tail coverage, and annual CME allowance.
