DUTIES

: Participates in the team approach within admitting to provide a comprehensive, coordinated and seamless service to patients. Assists the patient through the registration process, obtains current and accurate demographic and insurance information. Validates status of insurance and determines amount to be covered by private carrier. Collects required fees and co-pays. Verifies participation in managed care programs as well as authorization for hospital service with primary care provider.

QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or GED equivalency required. Associates degree or business school preferred. Minimum of 2 years in a doctor's office or Admitting Dept. required.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be computer-literate, have good keyboard skills, and be proficient in medical terminology.
