Who we are looking for:

We are currently looking for a Warehouse Coordinator to be based out of our newest RSC in Fort Worth, TX. Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, this person will be responsible for checking drivers in and out to ensure on-time departure of trucks to our customers and manage yard flow to ensure the safety of our employees and over-the-road drivers.

The ideal candidate will have years of experience in transportation/logistics/distribution environment. Experience in a lean environment or business system-based company is a plus.

 What you’ll do:

Plan hour-by-hour schedule of all Inbound/Outbound traffic Update Warehouse Supervisor and Lead of any late or early arrivals  Adjust hour-by-hour schedule to minimize downtime and fill empty slots when available; drive efficiencies in dock utilization.  Communicate with carriers and brokers to get updated ETA of scheduled loads Check drivers in and out to make sure dock doors are being utilized effectively Manage yard flow to ensure drivers come in and out and a safe manner Monitor progress of major shipments to ensure execution to promise dates Prepare and maintain necessary distribution documentation for operations Facilitate team involvement and commitment to resolving storage, transportation, invoicing and shipping issues Ensure policies and procedures are in place to drive effective receipt, handling, storage and distribution of product Review and recommend improvements for existing distribution policies and procedures on a routine basis Utilize the shipping schedule to maintain a flexible and effective dock schedule by communicating appointments Track performance for and work with carriers to ensure required service levels are met Work with cross-functional teams to facilitate resolution for both internal and external issues Flex into other support roles as needed to ensure the efficient operation of the business Demonstrate professional behavior, good business judgment, and strong team interaction skills Encourage and is receptive to suggestions and new ideas. Recommend new techniques, systems, and procedures Provides clear, concise instructions. Assists in resolving technical issues

What you’ll bring:

– years of experience of transportation/logistics/distribution coordinator experience, preferably in a distribution center or understanding of internal processes Knowledge of distribution center management in areas such as bulk and pick pack  Knowledge of LTL, TL, and containerized shipments Strong communication and organization skills  Lean experience strongly preferred  Strong understanding of metrics used to assist management in warehouse environment  Detailed oriented  Customer focused

Be proficient in completing bill of lading, packing list, seal assignment, and bar code assignments. Lead the shipping desk operations by supporting the Supervisor in directing workflow for the shift. Participate in a Kaizen event.

 Within months, you’ll:

Contribute ideas in process improvement including KPI’s of Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost. Have firm understanding of how the transportation department routes and appoints orders.
