Network Engineer III (CPE Devices)

Overview: We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer III to join our dynamic team. This role focuses on testing and optimizing Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) Devices within our network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in networking technologies, particularly in DOCSIS, CMTS, and CPE testing methodologies. Your expertise will contribute to the enhancement of our network performance and customer experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive testing of Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) Devices to ensure compatibility, performance, and reliability within the network.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute test plans for CPE Devices, focusing on DOCSIS standards, CMTS integration, and overall network compatibility.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to CPE Devices, including connectivity problems, firmware upgrades, and performance optimization.
  • Perform in-depth analysis of network performance metrics, utilizing tools and software to identify potential areas for improvement and optimization.
  • Work closely with vendors and third-party providers to evaluate new CPE Devices, assess their compatibility with the network infrastructure, and provide recommendations for deployment.
  • Participate in the design and implementation of network solutions, leveraging your expertise in DOCSIS, CMTS, OLT, ONU, and Pawn technologies.
  • Document test procedures, findings, and recommendations, ensuring accurate and thorough documentation for future reference and knowledge sharing.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to CPE Devices and network engineering, continuously enhancing your skills and expertise.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Equivalent work experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in network engineering roles; experience with testing and optimizing Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) Devices is a huge plus.
  • In-depth knowledge of DOCSIS standards, CMTS (Cable Modem Termination System), and CPE testing methodologies.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting complex network issues, utilizing diagnostic tools and methodologies.
  • Experience with OLT (Optical Line Terminal), ONU (Optical Network Unit), and Pawn technologies is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze network performance metrics and identify areas for improvement.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent are preferred.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic work environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
