Duties:

As the Mental Health Technician, you will utilize knowledge of normal/abnormal psychology as a basis for conducting patient and family interactions. Under RN supervision, you will assist the RN in patient monitoring as well as the delivery of physical and psychological nursing care. You are responsible for providing structure, support, a safe environment and intervention in psychiatric emergencies using crisis intervention skills and techniques.


Qualifications:

Associates degree or 60 college credits required. Coursework in psychological/social sciences required. BLS required. Ability to use blood pressure machine, stethoscope, weight scales, thermometer, restraints, copy machine, fax machine, etc., required. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Works well under pressure. Ability to monitor vital signs, strong interpersonal and time management skills, required. Psychiatric crisis intervention skills and knowledge of seclusion and restraints, required.
