Job Description:


The Department of Chemistry invites applications for adjunct professors to teach in-person chemistry courses (lecture and/or lab) in general chemistry and organic chemistry.

Responsibilities:

Lecture courses: Developing and/or updating a course syllabus; using the designated course text and online homework / skills assessment tools.

Lab courses: Using the designated lab manual. The labs will be set-up by the lab manager.

All courses:

Preparing instructional materials and delivering content that meets the expected learning outcomes.Maintaining regularly scheduled office hours of at least one hour per week.Meeting all scheduled class periods. If you are unable to meet your class due to illness or emergency, you must notify the department chair of your absence and of your plan to cover the class.Grading student assignments in a timely manner.Submitting completed mid-semester progress reports and final grades according to college guidelines.


Requirements:

Advanced degree in chemistry, biochemistry, or related discipline. Experience teaching at the undergraduate level is preferred.

Pay Range: 1,084 to $1,435 per credit hour
