Position: ICU Staff Nurse
Location: Red Bank, NJ

Job Summary:

Under general supervision, the ICU Staff Nurse demonstrates the ability to handle complex nursing problems and practices an expanded scope of nursing interventions. This role requires performing nursing interventions across various situations, identifying patient problems before significant changes in patient-specific data (such as vital signs), and floating to step-down units, telemetry units, and med-surg units as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct and individualized nursing care to patients in the ICU.
  • Assess patients' conditions and initiate appropriate nursing interventions.
  • Monitor and record patients' vital signs and respond to changes in patient conditions.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans based on patient assessment and clinical expertise.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
  • Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, and post-discharge care.
  • Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and nursing standards.
  • Float to step-down units, telemetry units, and med-surg units as needed.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum of two years of RN experience in the ICU with a demonstrated high level of performance and practice.
  • ICU experience at the bedside within the past six months.
  • Flexibility in working different hours and shifts as required.
  • Strong clinical knowledge and analytical abilities to formulate effective nursing care plans.
  • Proficiency in performing a wide variety of professional nursing services.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and hospital personnel.

  • N/A

Qualifications:

  • Current RN license in the state of practice.
  • BLS and ACLS certification required.

Work Environment:

  • The role involves working in a fast-paced ICU environment with critically ill patients.
  • Requires standing, walking, and lifting patients and medical equipment.
