Description


The Collector II, Liquidation is responsible for overseeing and resolving member repossession, foreclosure, and charge off accounts to maximize collections.  A Collector II, Liquidation balances maintaining strong member relationships and meets member service standards with maximizing collections.
 
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Contact delinquent charged off members regarding their loans by phone, mail, and email; take appropriate action to cure the full balance by payment plan or settlement, following established procedures and regulations 
  • Handle escalated member issues resulting from a  Right of Off-set or Notice of Consensual Lien 
  • Perform integral asset searches on charged-off accounts to recover losses
  • Evaluate deficiencies in documentation or collateral and financial information to determine borrower’s ability to repay 
  • Develops repayment, collateral and documentation plan following established procedures and regulations,  including initiating legal action following established procedures and regulations 
  • Proactively identify gaps in processes and procedures and make recommendations for improvements
  • Conduct skip tracing post charge off, as necessary, to obtain contact information in order to contact delinquent/defaulted members
  • Review and approve/deny system override requests from other departments on charged-off accounts
  • Participate in department projects and initiatives, including systems upgrades, quality control, and testing

 
Experience and Education Requirement:
  • Minimum Education:  High School Diploma or equivalent 
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in third party collections or charge off collections, preferably in the financial services industry
  • Knowledge of financial service industry regulations including TCPA, FDCPA, FCRA and FACT ACT is required  
  • Understanding of loan calculations including APR, amortization schedules and simple interest calculations
  • Effective time management skills and the ability to work independently or in a collaborative team environment
  • Strong listening skills with ability to ask probing questions to determine member needs and overcome objections
  • Strong problem solving and decision making skills with a strong attention to detail
  • Strong communication and influencing skills; able to write/speak clearly
  • Ability to professionally handle sensitive documents
  • Familiarity with a core banking system
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite 
  • Certification/License: N/A

Location: Hillsboro, OR 97124 (HYBRID)
 
Target Compensation in Hillsboro, OR: $24.52 - $27.40 + annual bonus
