Estimator - Drywall/Paint

Position Overview: The Estimator will be responsible for accurately assessing project costs for drywall and/or painting services, preparing detailed proposals, and supporting the sales team in securing new business. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and a deep understanding of the construction industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to understand the scope of work.
  • Perform detailed quantity take-offs for drywall and/or paint materials.
  • Prepare comprehensive and competitive cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
  • Collaborate with project managers, sales teams, and clients to develop accurate and timely proposals.
  • Identify and evaluate potential cost-saving opportunities.
  • Maintain and update pricing databases, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness.
  • Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits to gather necessary project information.
  • Assist in negotiating contracts with clients and subcontractors.
  • Track and analyze project costs, budgets, and schedules to ensure estimates are aligned with actual project outcomes.
  • Provide support in resolving any discrepancies or issues related to project estimates.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as an estimator in the drywall and paint industry.
  • Proficient in estimating software and tools (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift).
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and processes specific to drywall and painting.
  • Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural plans and specifications.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
