The Role -

Amphenol Aerospace Operations is seeking a Environmental Health System Technician to work out of its state-of-the-art facility in Mesa, AZ.

The key responsibilities of this Position include, but are not limited to:

  • Uphold and improve safety policies and procedures to meet regulatory requirements and ensure a safe work environment for all team members
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local EHS regulations
  • Maintain the Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) program
  • Manage and maintain the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) system
  • Participate in accident investigation and root cause identification for work-related injuries and illnesses, on-the-job accidents, or near misses as required
  • Manage Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safety equipment ordering, alternate/new PPE evaluations, PPE trials
  • Evaluate and improve site EHS programs and policies
  • Understand hazardous waste regulations specific to ADEQ and EPA
  • Assist in trainings such as: new hire safety orientation, hazard communication, machine guarding, hand and powered tool safety, ladder safety, lock out tag out (LOTO), forklift, etc.
  • Track and perform audits, monitor open action items, and aid in resolution
  • Interface with regulatory and public sector EHS agencies and authorities as appropriate
  • Perform PPE Assessments/Facility Assessment
  • Work in interdepartmental teams on projects as an EHS resource

The Person -

The key skills and qualities of an Environmental Health System Technician at Amphenol Aerospace Operations:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Health & Safety, Environmental Science or equivalent education/ work experience
  • Strong communication verbally and written
  • MS Office Skills – Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • HAZWOPER 40 Preferred
  • OSHA 10 Hour Preferred
  • Knowledge of safety policies, rules and regulations for OSHA, EPA, and other applicable industry standards
  • Knowledge of local environmental regulations
  • Associate Safety Professional (ASP) designation preferred
  • 1-3 years: Experience in EHS related activities
  • Physical demands of the role include sitting, bending, interaction with operations (walking, lifting, bending, climbing stairs) and occasional travel
