POSITION SUMMARY: Plan, assign, and supervise the work and training of custodial workers engaged in cleaning and minor maintenance tasks. Uphold the University Mission Statement and the training and development of leadership skills.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervise and instruct employees in proper custodial and safety methods Provide a safe work environment through the training of employees and inspection of equipment Reassign and adjust crews to respond to special needs or tasks Inspect all areas of campus for cleanliness and unusual activity Respond to requests in a timely manner Act as a liaison between GAs and building representatives Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease complaints, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge of materials, supplies, and practices essential to the cleaning of buildings Knowledge of proper use and care of vacuum cleaners, mop wringers, mops, brushes, soaps, cleaning fluids, and other materials and equipment related to the custodial care of buildings Knowledge of hazards and safety methods related to custodial operations Good communication skills, both written and oral, in one-on-one or group settings or by telephone Good writing skills Ability to work cooperatively with management Ability to keep time and attendance records preferred Ability to perform physical inventory of equipment and supplies preferred Professional in appearance and presentation Effective in oral and written communication Physically capable of operating university vehicles safely Exposed to dust, fumes, gases Under certain situations may be required to wear a respirator Required Education: High School diploma or GED Required Experience: 1-2 years related experience Apply For This Position Refer a Friend
