Strayer University is seeking a dynamic Adjunct Faculty member to join our academics team. We are currently in search of a passionate professor for graduate level ECO550 Managerial Econ and Global class for the upcoming Fall quarter, starting October 1, 2024 in a hybrid format. The hybrid format is described as teaching the course in both the in-person and online modalities. This role requires 11 in-person meeting sessions for 2 hours every week held at a predetermined scheduled time (day/evening) at a specific Strayer University Campus. The balance of the course is instructed asynchronously online.

Teach courses as assigned from a pre-designed curriculum and utilize your professional expertise to provide high-quality instruction.

Enhance the strength and effectiveness of the curriculum using technology and videos.

Arrive on-campus at least half an hour prior to the start time of in-person sessions per week during the academic quarter.

Utilize the online learning platform to enrich the student learning experience for the online component of the course.

Be available to students via email, phone, text, and office hours to ensure students receive quality feedback in a timely manner to support their academic success.

Establish high standards and ensure students understand how they will be evaluated.

Adhere to University policies and procedures.

Attend faculty meetings and workshops or training as required.

Job Skills:

Demonstrated knowledge of academic technology.

Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) software and overall computer skills.

Demonstrated knowledge of academic evaluation.

Proficiency in oral presentation skills, planning, and organizing of course objectives.

Must have strong computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Effective time management skills.

Work Experience:

At least 5 years of professional experience in an 
economic-related field of Business such as an 
Economist, Financial Management, Market 
Research Analyst, Financial Analyst, Budget 
Analyst, etc
Some international business or economic 
experience preferred.

Teaching experience at the college level and online teaching experience are strongly preferred.

Education:

All degrees must be conferred and from an accredited institution to be considered

Doctorate Degree in Economics or any Doctorate 
degree with 27 doctorate quarter credit hours (18 
semester credit hours) in Economics required
OR
Doctorate Degree in a Business-related field w/ 
Master’s Degree in Economics or any Master’s 
degree with 27 graduate quarter credit hours (18
semester credit hours) in Economics required.

Master’s level degree in the discipline in discipline specialty from a regionally accredited institution.

Certificates, licenses, and registrations:

 Professional certification in discipline specialty (if applicable).

Other:

Must be able to travel weekly to required location(s).

Must be able to lift 25 lbs.

Typical office setting.

Mobility within the office including movement from floor to floor.

Travel via plane, car, and metro may be required to perform this job.

Must be able to work more than 40 hours per week when business needs warrant.

Access information using a computer.

Effectively communicate, both up and down the management chain.

Effectively cope with stressful situations.

Strong mental acuity.

Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this job.
