Strategic Staffing Solutions (S3) is currently looking for a Systems Engineer consultant for a contract opening with one of our largest clients located in West Chester, PA/ REMOTE to start

This is a Contract Opportunity with our company that MUST be worked on a W2 ONLY, NO visa sponsorship or C2C eligibility for this position.  The details are below.

Systems Engineer

Role Summary

The Lead Systems Engineer is responsible for the design, build out, and maintenance of the DevOps infrastructure. At the Lead level, team members propose new architectures/complex solutions and define new processes in support of the Clients CI/CD Pipeline, while also carrying out already established tasks, resolving incidents, and fulfilling requests.

Principle Responsibilities:

  • Ensures core operational processes are carried out, resolution of incidents, and fulfillment of requests.
  • Acts as an escalation point for level 1 resources and directs level 1 resources in the completion of tasks. Mentors other team members. Directly supervises the work of contractors and managed service providers.
  • Works across the organization to define requirements and complete major projects/initiatives.
  • Defines new IT architectures and complex processes, automates and refines existing processes.
  • Designs new implementations and integrations between systems.
  • Completes project tasks for new implementations, and plans complex upgrades, migrations, and remediations.
  • Recommends new products and participates in the selection process for new solutions. Completes in-depth analysis of competing solutions.
  • Creates and updates documentation, standard operating procedures, etc.
  • Directly manages vendors and frequently is accountable for all infrastructure tasks in any given project.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelors Degree in a relevant field is preferred and 8+ years of experience in enterprise IT, or 10+ years of enterprise IT experience.
  • General knowledge of typical enterprise IT disciplines DevOps, virtualization, server operating systems, enterprise storage solutions, backups, networking, etc, and their cloud implementations.
  • SME knowledge of 2 or more skillsets relevant to the team (AWS, Linux, Windows Server, Automation, Enterprise Management Tools)
  • Industry experience (banking, insurance, financial services, or similar highly regulated environment) preferred.
  • Experience with an enterprise cloud platform: AWS, Azure, GCP; server operating systems, enterprise automation/management, and DevOps tool sets.
  • Experience in an offshore/hybrid delivery model.
  • Understanding of ITIL/IT Service Management concepts and workflows (Change, incident, and problem management).
  • Excellent communication skills required
  • Exemplary relationship management skills required

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of IT Security/risk principles and relevant industry certifications.
  • AWS Professional level certification
  • Chef experience
  • Deep understanding of CloudFormation Templates (IaC)
  • Jenkins experience, including Groovy, GitHub, and JFrog Artifactory
  • Working knowledge within AWS, i.e. Glue, Lambda, ECR, IAM, Secrets Manager, EKS, etc.
  • Strong understanding of Kubernetes, specifically EKS
  • Proficient with SDLC (Documenting and Implementation)
  • Experience with Docker
