This position reports to the EHS Manager at E Ink and requires a broad background to oversee EHS functions at and our South Hadley, MA site. This role is critical to ensuring that EHS is not only deeply involved in the ongoing operations, but also maintains relationships to be a strong partner in the planning for new projects, chemical procurement, equipment installation and modifications, and facility buildouts. This position will join a strong team of dynamic EHS professionals that will provide ongoing support and education to ensure success and growth.

Key Job Responsibilities: Develop, implement and maintain environmental, health and safety programs, policies and procedures at the site level for the South Hadley, MA facility.Provide safety training to employees on various topics such as, LOTO, HAZCOM, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and Powered Industrial TrucksMonitor governmental organizations and industry for new rules, regulations, laws and policies applicable to the specific area.Compile, update, and maintain required environmental regulatory documentation as requested.Collaborate to support health and safety programs, as well as completing safety equipment inspections, industrial hygiene studies, and site safety inspections.Work together with cross-functional teams to develop, support and implement environmental management and sustainability programs.Perform hazard risk assessments on processes, chemical use, and equipment.Participate in risk reduction programs and continuous improvement activities.Assist in the preparation of accident, incident, and near-miss reports, and work with teammates to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.Serve as a member of the site emergency response teams and support the site’s Incident Commander with emergency response.Supports efforts in driving site safety culture, including participating/leading the site's safety team. Job Knowledge Required:  Bachelor’s degree in environmental, occupational health, safety, science, or engineering‑related field3-5 years of proven EHS experience, preferably in a chemical or electronics related fieldWillingness to occasionally travel to our Billerica site to provide EHS support.Experience with implementing or working within an OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) ProgramExperience with local, state and federal agencies including EPA, MassDEP, OSHA, DOT, and NFPAFamiliar with Industrial Hygiene Monitoring such as air and noise monitoringFamiliar with chemical hazards, process safety, and risk assessment techniques Familiar with Air Permitting, Source Registration, Tier II, HAZWASTE Management, Wastewater Systems, Hazardous Materials Management, TURA, and SPCCTraining and experience in emergency response, HAZMAT, and first aid.Familiar with ISO 19001 and 14001 standards Key Attributes: Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skillsWillingness to be hands-on and take ownership of programs.Pragmatic and flexible while driving continuous improvement.Approachable, empathetic, and outgoing to build trust and respect.Desire to work in a fast paced, innovative environment.Detail-oriented in completing work assignments and demonstrate the ability to independently and accurately prioritize and complete tasks.
