Summary

The Control Technician performs a variety of maintenance, modification, and repair activities in controls of all building equipment and material handling systems in the distribution centers. This includes the ability to troubleshoot and repair sensors, encoders, decoders, and bar code readers.

Responsibilities

Follow lockout-tag out procedures, confined space procedures, and other safety and environmental procedures and policies as requiredPerform program changes, monitoring of PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers) and PMS (Process Management Systems)Troubleshoot repairs of all Controls, Process Controllers, Control Cabinets, Power Supplies and all other field devicesPerforms skilled and semi-skilled maintenance activities including performing material handling equipment troubleshooting and repair; office furniture moves and setupsCompletes work orders for work performed and includes parts and inventory usedDocument all work order activities to follow MP2 requirements, providing detailed records of the activities performedAbility to troubleshoot and repair low and high voltage controls including fuses, relays, wiring, contactors and power supplies from the source to the field deviceAbility to read and comprehend technical manuals and schematicsAbility to read blueprintsExperience using electrical diagnostic equipment (to include digital and analog meters, and amp meters for AC/DC testing)

Qualifications

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum of 2 years industrial maintenance experience with PLC's, conveyors, controls, and Operating SystemsElectrical experience with high and low voltage, AC and DCKnowledge of mechanical and electrical drawingsConsistent track record of strong mechanical and electrical troubleshootingKnowledge of Automatic Identification systems (Laser Scanning Devices)Strong systems or technical proficiencyExperience in programming and supervising Programmable Logic Controllers such as (Allen/Bradley, Siemens etc.)Support overtime work as the need arises

Education

Possession of an associate's degree and a minimum 2 years industrial maintenance experience with PLC's, conveyors, controls, and Operating Systems.

Valid Drivers License with satisfactory driving record required.
