Responsibilities

Candidate will perform Instrumentation and Controls Technologist level work in the WWE&C ESS Department and will be involved in the design, installation, maintenance, and ongoing improvements of instrumentation and control systems throughout the company at various sites. This position requires working closely with operations, maintenance, manufacturing supervision, contract engineering, project engineers, project managers, construction forces, and other members of the Control Systems Engineering staff to assist in capital projects and technical support. The primary job expectations will be to support capital projects in the design and installation of industrial instrumentation and control systems including engineering studies, instrument sizing and technology selection, project estimating support, technical field support of systems and equipment, project scope documentation, detail design package review, instrument commissioning and start-up, etc. 

Primary Responsibilities:

Candidate must be comfortable learning and working with a number of digital tools such as Eastman Project Software Tools (ProjectWise, SEIGA, PLE Web), SharePoint, AlMs, Micro Station, etc... in addition to the Microsoft suite of tools. Candidate will need to be able to make engineering sketches and be able to pull together cost estimates for equipment changes/upgrades. Candidate will support ESS Department initiatives including submitting work highlights, utilizing and updating equipment databases, ensuring accuracy of documentation, providing assistance to Electrical/Control System Engineers and Analysts Candidate must have computer knowledge for the troubleshooting, calibrating, or set-up of process instrumentation. Candidate must complete all assigned duties in a safe manner. 

Qualifications

Associates Degree/College Diploma and 1+ years equivalent experience OR HS Diploma/Ged and 3+ years of relative experience Good personal communication and people skills. Interaction with engineering, operations and maintenance personnel occurs daily.  Must be customer focused, self-motivated, and goal oriented. Must have experience with design, field verification, installation, documentation, troubleshooting, and problem solving of instrumentation equipment in an industrial plant environment. Ability to manage multiple projects is a must. Must also be able to also work on multidiscipline teams.  Possess basic computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, database programs). Experience with MicroStation CADD or equivalent is desirable. Familiarity with the latest NEC is desirable. Working SAP knowledge is a plus. Working knowledge of the industrial instrumentation and control systems field. Availability to travel 10% of the year.
