The position will serve as the product owner of Practice Perfect, CCNC’s provider facing analytics and reporting tools, and will help lead the development of the organization’s technical solutions for patient outreach and engagement. The role will focus on empowering independent primary care providers with data driven insights to drive performance in value-based care delivery and developing technological support to engage patients in their care. The Director of Clinical Product Design will also be responsible for staying attuned to emerging needs and solutions in the healthcare tech landscape, and for ensuring that CCNC’s practice and patient-facing solutions remain optimal. The position will report to the Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer and serve as a conduit between the population health division and the analytics and reporting team, among others. Working with internal and external stakeholders, this role will help develop and deploy the strategy for improving our point of care clinical decision support tools and increase their adoption and utilization by member primary care practices. In addition, the Director of Clinical Product Design will ensure our applications facilitate communication between our care management team and providers. The Director will also work with our care management team to identify business needs and assess possible technological solutions for patient outreach and engagement. The Director of Clinical Product Design will partner with the analytics team and others to help advance product design and development, including assisting with product development timelines and expectations, and working across the organization to help manage the process and ensure expectations are met. In addition, the Director of Clinical Product Design will be responsible for developing and deploying the training and marketing of our applications, as well as ensuring that internal staff and practices are aware of how their use drives improved population health outcomes. Essential Functions

Establishes the vision for CCNC’s approach to provider and patient-based technology capabilities.

  1. Responsible for helping to develop overall product vision & strategy in support of enterprise strategy.
  2. Applies knowledge of technology enabled solutions to improve CCNC’s clinical decision support tools and drive performance in value-based care delivery.
  3. Identifies technology applications to improve patient engagement in preventative care and self-management of chronic conditions and
  4. Improves technological capability to make care management referrals and improve two-way communications between practices and care managers.

Stays abreast of competitor tools and new patient and provider-focused technologies.

  1. Surveys landscape for innovations, competition, emerging needs.

Solicits, collects, and distills information from internal and external customers on their technology needs.

  1. Builds customer relationships; attuned to customer wants & needs through regular in person and virtual practice visits and provider meetings.
  2. Identifies both hard and soft benefits to product enhancements and weighs these against costs.

Develops CCNC development roadmap based on CCNC’s strategic priorities for driving performance in value-based contracts and customer feedback regarding desired functionality.

  1. Maintains awareness of analytics & technology team’s capabilities and bandwidth.
  2. Works with internal stakeholders to ensure timely, error-free deployment.
  3. Skilled in identifying both hard and soft benefits to product enhancements and weighing these against costs.

Drives adoption across other stakeholder groups (both internal & external).

  1. Develops overall marketing, training, and deployment strategies.
  2. Trains the trainer & other interested parties.
  3. Works with Communications to develop training & other collateral.
  4. Develops and deploys training to practices and internal teams and serves as resource to help practices optimize use of the tool to drive performance.

Qualifications

  • Four-year degree in business, technology, or healthcare related field.
  • 7+ years’ experience in a product development, ownership, and/or delivery role.
  • Knowledge of product lifecycle management principles & practices.
  • Working knowledge of healthcare quality measures and using data to drive performance improvement.
  • Minimum of 3 years working in the healthcare industry with a focus on value-based care delivery.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of healthcare population health, quality improvement, and cost containment concepts.
  • Ability to build and manage a product roadmap, with an eye to demonstrable value delivery.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and facilitate at an executive leadership level.
  • Strong conflict resolution, negotiation, consensus building skills.
  • Solid analytical, problem-solving and financial analysis skills.
  • Ability to build and manage relationships across the enterprise.
Working Conditions
  • Routinely there may be some minor physical inconveniences or discomforts in the work setting, including sitting for moderate periods of time.
  • Must be able to utilize office equipment, computer, keyboard, and phone with or without assistive devices.
  • Repetitive wrist motion and occasional lifting/carrying of up to 25 pounds.
  • Travel within the region and/or state.
