The Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology (GSAPP) at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, seeks to hire a Post-Doctoral Associate.
A successful candidate will assume a range of responsibilities including:Conducting direct service psychotherapy for youth with ADHD and their families using a mentalization-based treatment frameworkSupporting Answer’s comprehensive sex education efforts by conducting trainings, updating training materials, identifying and developing additional trainingsAssessing local and national needs related to youth sex education and sexual wellnessTraining doctoral practicum students in mentalization-based therapy for children Providing weekly clinical supervision to doctoral level trainees Engaging in research, scholarship and other professionally relevant creative activities that contribute to the mission of the Cultivating Compassion ADHD Clinic and Answer, Sex Ed Honestly Participating in all aspects of the grant management process (identifying new grants, developing proposals, progress reporting, etc.) Disseminating scholarly endeavors through diverse forums including refereed journal articles and manuscripts. Overseeing the administrative aspects of the ADHD clinic (screening potential clients, managing the waitlist, registering patients in the EMR) Position Status Full Time Posting Number 24FA0062 Posting Open Date Posting Close Date Qualifications Minimum Education and Experience A doctoral degree (PsyD, PhD) in clinical or counseling psychology, or a closely related fieldExperience treating diverse youth and families from a psychodynamic perspective (familiarity with mentalization based therapy strongly preferred)Familiarity with ADHD treatmentExperience working in a mentorship role with youthInterest in/knowledge of comprehensive sex educationStrong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skillsCompetency and experiencing using an EMRA record of scholarly productivity in the area of youth mental health, mentalization, ADHD, psychodynamic theory, sexuality, sex education, or a closely related domainExperience providing supervision preferredExperience writing and/or managing grants preferred Certifications/Licenses Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Equipment Utilized Physical Demands and Work Environment Overview Statement
