We are looking for a curious, creative, and passionate Chef that is eager to lead an inventive culinary team and help us take our kitchen to the next level that the community of San Antonio can be proud of. If you prefer to work in a creative atmosphere that takes pride in the ingredients we use and purveyors we support rather than work in a ho hum, run of the mill chain restaurant, we look forward to interviewing you.

Preferably, the candidate should have at least 2 years of experience as a Kitchen Manager at a restaurant or pub with a solid reputation in a major city. This individual must be an assertive coach with a proven record of positive results in building strong and resilient kitchen teams. This individual has probably trained a handful of sous chefs.

The Chef must be capable of overseeing the culinary menu creation, evolution, and execution for our organization and be able to bring to life a menu that is a direct reflection of our business model and philosophy.

The Hoppy Monk is an independent and family-owned pub that focuses on supporting independent breweries and distilleries. We have a scratch kitchen that uses organic produce, pasture raised meats, and wild caught fish from local farmers & ranchers whenever possible.
