Job Summary

Protech Calibration Technicians are responsible for completing a wide range of Advanced Driver Assistance System Calibrations by following OE specifications and repair standards. Initial training is provided by Protech as well as a robust virtual support team and continuing education on new vehicle technology. This position is based at a static calibration station.

Roles & Responsibilities 

Customer service focused, ability to develop relationships and deliver operational consistency

Perform static and dynamic ADAS Calibrations on foreign, domestic and EV (electric) vehicles 

Troubleshoot complex calibration repairs 

Test drive vehicles after repairs are completed 

Adequately explain ADAS calibration specifications and repair planning needs; to include collision repair center personnel, insurance adjusters, and direct customers

Basic knowledge of how to remove and install vehicle parts – Example: Bumper, trim panels, mirrors 

Complete pre and post scans with OE and/or aftermarket tools, communicate outcome effectively 

After training completion, must be able to complete static and dynamic calibrations per OE specifications

Communicate with field team to ensure efficiency and productivity

Maintain a well-organized work area

Responsible for ensuring tooling software updates are completed immediately 

Accountable for assigned inventory (including vehicles, mobile devices, laptops, OE scan tools, VCI, other equipment provided)

Participate in virtual (online) training sessions

Complete assigned training and certifications 

Develop and maintain excellent customer relationships through our company purpose and core values

Qualifications, Education & Experience: 

Automotive repair experience preferred but not required

Trade school experience a plus 

ASE or I-CAR certifications a plus 

Successfully complete Protech ADAS Calibration Training

Understanding of technology & basic software programs 

Ability to learn Aftermarket and OEM diagnostic scan tools and factory software

Ability to learn and understand collision repair processes and terminology 

Knowledge and ability to use computers, mobile devices, and related technology efficiently

Travel may be required for continuing education and certification training 

Self -motivated, positive attitude, with a customer focused vision

Requirements:

Must be at least 21 years of age

Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to pass MVR check

Ability to pass a background check

Must be able to lift 60 pounds independently

Travel may be required for continuing education and certification training 

Requires standing for extended periods of time with frequent stretching, reaching, walking, and stooping

Requires frequent driving of company and customer vehicles 

Extensive travel within assigned areais expected

May have exposure to fumes, dust, and chemicals 

Ability to work in a shop environment in inclement weather

Required to wear PPE to include but not limited to facial covering, eye protection, gloves
