POSITION SUMMARY
The Cashier position at Feather Hill Express is a valuable team member of the store operation and is responsible for performing various operational store functions. The cashier is responsible for the checkout procedures at the store and assisting the customer and supporting efficient store operations.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Processing sales transactions
  • Calculating and returning change for cash transactions
  • Maintaining adequate change denominations and requesting additional change
  • Answering customer questions about products or services and providing recommendations based on customer needs.
  • Cross-selling and upselling products
  • Reconciling cash drawers and sales receipts
  • Reporting issues with equipment
  • Collaborating with the team to meet store sales goals.
  • Responding to and resolving customer complaints and concerns
  • Processing returns and exchanges.
  • Maintaining clean and tidy checkout and merchandise areas, mopping the floor, cleaning the restrooms, emptying the trash cans, and performing other cleaning activities.
  • Assisting in stocking and rotating merchandise.
  • Scanning and bagging items accurately and efficiently
  • Staying up to date on merchandise promotions, advertisements, and product information.
  • All other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or its equivalent.
  • Computer literacy and experience in using point-of-sale systems.
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal and communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Possess basic mathematical skills and ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills to navigate complex payment discrepancies.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management abilities to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Provide the highest level of integrity to maintain and safeguard employer confidentiality.
  • A solid understanding of industry regulations and compliance.

OTHER DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • An associate degree in business administration or related fields.
  • A general understanding of and practicing emotional intelligence in the workplace.

Attendance and Dependability: The employee has reliable transportation to work and can be depended on to report to work at the scheduled time and is seldom absent from work. Employees can be dependent upon completing work in a timely, accurate, and thorough manner and conscientious, about assignments.

Communication and Contact: The employee communicates effectively both verbally and in writing with superiors, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the Company.

Relationships with Others: The employee works effectively and relates well with others Including superiors, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the Company. The employee exhibits a professional manner in dealing with others and works, to maintain constructive working relationships.
INDIAN PREFERENCE
Indian preference will be given to candidates showing proof of enrollment in a federally recognized tribe. SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE MUST:

  • Submit to, and pass, a drug test.
  • Agree to a criminal background check.
  • Sign confidentiality clause
  • Be insurable to operate tribal vehicles.
  • Valid Driver's License or ability to obtain driver's license.
  • Physically able to stand for long periods of time and lift to 5O lbs.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment
  • Pass a cash handling test.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Salary: From $14.21 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 40 per week
