Senior Software Developer DNS CP

The DNS team owns and operates mission-critical DNS infrastructure and software for the Oracle Cloud. Serving at a scale of billions of queries per second, we operate a world-class DNS network where uptime is critical and impact is far-reaching.
This individual will be a senior member of the DNS team in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). Primarily focused on delivering the implementation, testing and operational automation for the DNS Control Plane. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and possess a wide range of skills and experience. This individual should be proficient at operating in a SaaS, Cloud or Hybrid cloud environment. This individual will also be autonomous and be expected to contribute to a wide range of high-impact projects across the organization. The ideal candidate will be an experienced leader.
As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems. Provide technical leadership to other software developers. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.
Major Duties:
Designs, develops and maintains infrastructure and backend applications in our dev, test and production environments Hands on software development at scale – Develop code that scales to billions of queries per second Perform troubleshooting and coordinate problem resolution activities with engineering and support teams Establish and maintain productive relationships with peer organizations Experience with Root cause analysis, monitoring and alarming in all environments Help automate and streamline operations and processes for Tier 0 infrastructure service Deep knowledge of Linux internals and performance, and host based networking Manage and build CI and CD tools/pipelines and collaborate within larger developer tools organization Build and maintain tools for deployments, security patching and vulnerability management, and change safety Experience with configuring, managing, and extending infrastructure solutions for growing footprint as part of the large scale environment Develop validations for end-to-end system verification and configuration management Deep understanding of the service, service KPIs and management of the Grafana dashboards Provide technical guidance and educate team members and coworkers on operational excellence General knowledge of the following categories of network systems: Multiprocessing, Threading, Distributed systems, Load Balancing and High Availability Work closely with both internal and external software development resources as well as IT/network operations and the users of our solutions Strong communication skills, excellent troubleshooting skills with sense of ownership and driving to completionQualifications:
Demonstrated ability to deliver the items listed in the major duties' section implementing cloud solutions At least 5 years of operations engineering experience in SaaS Cloud or Hybrid Cloud Environments 5+ years managing large scale, highly distributed, services infrastructures At least 3 years of experience with Linux operating systems Experience with CI/CD tools Jenkins, Teamcity, Bitbucket, Git Experience managing host virtualization technologies (Containers, Docker, Experience with configuration management systems, such as Chef, Ansible Experience with cloud orchestration tools, such as Terraform Experience with scripting languages like Python and Bash Familiarity with core protocols (DNS, DHCP, HTTP, TCP) Familiarity with coding in Java is a plus Excellent written and verbal communication skills Demonstrated ability to work effectively across organizational boundaries and within groups Should be a flexible, resourceful, team player that is able to thrive in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment Creative thinking, troubleshooting and critical analysis are essentialEducation:

US: Hiring Range: from $74,800 to $178,200 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
