How you will contribute:

As an HVAC Engineer, you will prepare detailed designs for HVAC, steam, and industrial process piping projects. You will perform HVAC and piping system load calculation, equipment selection, ductwork and pipe sizing, control sequence creation, and specification development. You will also provide information to our estimating team relative to bid packages and provide engineering input into the operations plans for system commissioning and start-up. You will play a lead role in customer interactions and site visits to understand building usage and internal processes, enabling you to create systems that meet the needs of each facility. On projects you design, you will create all documents for submission and permitting, and interact with field teams to ensure your designs are installed and commissioned successfully. As an HVAC Engineer, you will work with chilled water cooling, DX cooling, hot water heating, low and high-pressure steam, condenser water, commercial & industrial ventilation, and exhaust systems. Exercise your ability to multi-task as you manage a workload of typically 3 concurrent projects and occasionally provide assistance to Ahern’s multiple regional offices.

What you need to qualify:

Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, combined with a strong foundation in HVAC systems and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and Trane Trace are preferred. Candidates should have a strong understanding of mechanical codes and industry standards.
