Job Overview:As a Grower Accountant, you will play a critical role in managing financial transactions and reporting related to our grower partners. You will collaborate closely with growers, internal departments, and external stakeholders to ensure accurate accounting practices and timely payments. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of agricultural operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Grower Financial Management: Maintain accurate records of grower contracts, transactions, and payments.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare financial reports, including grower statements, reconciliation reports, and variance analysis.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in developing and monitoring budgets and forecasts for grower-related expenses.
  • Auditing and Compliance: Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and contractual agreements. Coordinate with auditors as needed.
  • Communication and Relationship Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for growers regarding financial inquiries, statements, and payments. Build and maintain strong relationships with grower partners.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes, enhance efficiency, and mitigate financial risks.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze grower performance metrics and financial data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, procurement, and sales, to support business objectives and resolve financial issues.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in the agriculture industry.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and auditing standards.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of agricultural operations and industry practices is a plus.
