Summary of Job Function:

Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in the operation and maintenance of main boiler room, heat recovery boiler room, air compressors and HVAC systems and equipment,

Schedules shifts and oversees daily operation of high pressure steam generating plant and auxiliary equipment,

Responsible for weekly reports identifying, but not limited to, the following; fuel oil and natural gas consumption, water, BTU s produced, make-up water generated, chiller plant,

Insure that [unit/department/division] is in compliance with all applicable policies, laws and regulations,

Familiar with BMS and fire alarm system monitoring and operation,

Capable to work independently to, troubleshooting and maintain equipment,

Knowledgeable of steam supply and distribution,

Responsible to perform emergency repair and coordinate with outside contractor as needed,

Must be available to respond to emergency situation during off hours,

Job Qualifications/Education/Training/Certification/Licensure

Must possess and maintain a valid NJ driver's license,

High school graduate or equivalency

Active refrigeration and Boiler operator NJ blue seal licenses required,

NJ red seal Boiler operator license to be obtained within 24 months of employment,

5 years boiler operator experience and 2 years hospital experience preferred,
