POSITION PURPOSE
Maintains, upgrades, modifies, enhances, customizes, and supports the Credit Union’s business applications and all other business critical and ancillary systems. Supports the execution of Fortera’s strategy through the administration and management of the core and related systems. Troubleshoots end user problems. Provides application and data integrity problem resolution. Translates business requirements into programs, reports, and functions that facilitate the Credit Union’s core mission while looking for opportunities to improve member’s experience.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
Maintain daily operations to meet Credit Union’s information needs.
- Performs daily operations tasks as directed and monitor systems as needed.
- Resolves software/hardware issues, including after-hours support, involving vendors and co-workers as needed.
- Analyzes business functions and management information needs to seek new and more effective solutions, gain efficiencies, and evolve our systems
- Maintains system integrity and performance.
- Produces and transmit data to vendors as needed.
- Provides support for various vendors and interfaces.
- Build technical and functional documentation for new programs or as changes are made to existing programs.
- Ensures systems hardware and software meets regulatory requirements.
- Assists installing and testing latest software and OS patches from vendors to ensure continued, uninterrupted operation.
Responsible for establishing and maintaining good communication and coordination with system users.
- Promptly responds to user’s requests and ideas.
- Resolves problems and concerns. Provides assistance, support, and training to users as required.
- Ensures that software and reporting solutions meet user’s requirements and are completed on schedule.
- Ensures that interactions with users are clear, courteous, and understandable.
- Communicates as much information as possible to users, including reasons for problems, project status and deadlines.
- Serves as consultant and resource to users.
Assume responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective communication, coordination and working relations with area staff and with management.
- Keeps management informed of significant problems and of progress attained in reaching established objectives.
- Provides recommendations to establish new and more effective programs and future equipment needs.
- Assists and supports other department personnel as needed.
- Prepares reports of changes, discussing what could be improved and potential ramifications.
- Attends and participates in meetings, trainings and committees as required.
Assume responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.
- Stays informed of changes in system functionality and computer technology.
- Ensures that work area and assigned equipment are clean, secure and well maintained.
- Completes special projects and other tasks as assigned by management.
- Participates in community and civic events to promote awareness of the Credit Union in the community.
- Satisfactorily completes all required compliance training and comply with all regulations which apply within the scope of the position to include Bank Secrecy Act compliance.
PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS
- Current applications continually and effectively analyzed to ensure that information needs are met. Programs are updated, enhanced, and customized as needed.
- Data and program integrity are maintained. Tasks are completed on schedule.
- Users can effectively utilize established systems and are comfortable and satisfied with them.
- Good working relations exist with users. Users’ concerns are promptly addressed, and any problems effectively resolved.
- Required reports and documentation are complete and current.
- Management is appropriately informed of area activities and any significant problems.
- Recommendations for improvements in policies, procedures and programming functions are provided.

Required Experience
Education/Certification:
- College degree in computer science or related field preferred or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or computer related experience.
Required Knowledge:
- Understanding of financial institution operations and information needs.
- Working knowledge of business software applications.
- Fundamental understanding of technology and systems integration.
Experience Required:
- Two years of experience in a financial environment preferred.
- One year of computer related experience, preferably in a financial environment.
- Knowledge of these systems preferred: Jack Henry Symitar Episys, Synapsis, Power Ons.
- Python development experience preferred.
- Thorough understanding preferred of core and financial platforms.
