Overview of the Position:

The Commodity Risk Management (CRM)/Procurement Analyst will provide analytical support to the Strategic Sourcing Directors and Category Managers on the Grains and Bakery team with the execution of category sourcing strategies and supply chain initiatives for all YUM Brands concepts; Taco Bell, KFC, Pizza Hut, The Habit Burger Grill, and for A&W All American Restaurant. Specifically, with direction, the Analyst is responsible for conducting spend analytics, historical commodity price analysis and forecasting, category market research, support sourcing events and optimization of the supply base. The Analyst will also support special projects across the department and drive research into emerging technologies affecting the procurement landscape. The position reports to the Vice President of Commodity Risk Management and the Senior Director of Bakery Procurement. This is a unique role in which the candidate will be exposed to commodity risk management and procurement.

Position Responsibilities:

Commodity Risk Management

Manage risk management order entry, monitor order execution, and manage the reporting of commodity risk management positions with suppliers for accuracy. Manage and maintain updated risk management position summary tables and prepare monthly financial reports that are distributed to the executive team and others as requested. Regularly verify hedged positions are flowing through to the final item pricing in cost bars. Facilitate the development and implementation of various risk management tools by proactively assessing price risk by building analytical models based on fundamental supply and demand variables for all key commodities. Facilitate the development of strategic hedge plans, which includes thoroughly studying correlations and risk associated with hedging in various markets. Communicate internally and externally on commodity activities to all members. Develop high quality reporting and updates for the Board of Directors and RSCS Executive Team. Lead or participate on special project teams as needed.

Bakery Procurement

Create and update Category Profiles, category segmentation, support strategy development and contract negotiations. Create and assess total cost of ownership models to help analyze alternative, Best Alternative to Negotiating Agreement generating sourcing scenarios. Provide key insights, including industry and supplier capacity analysis, for short and long-term business continuity planning. Track and communicate team restaurant margin initiatives to ensure projects are on track and appropriately reported to RSCS Finance Team Develop and maintain category spend databases. Conduct relevant spend analytics to support overall category sourcing and optimization activities. Support development of RFx pricing models, conduct supplier bid analyses, and recommend award decisions. Develop/administer robust cost of goods models that accurately forecast key SKUs in the Bakery team categories. Work with Commodity Risk Management Team ensuring alignment between pricing and commodity updates. Analyze pricing across suppliers to ensure pricing is consistent for raw materials.
