Job Description
The Lead Fixed Asset Accountant role is a part of the Houston Financial Shared Service Center reporting to the General Ledger Manager. This position is responsible for the full cycle of fixed asset reporting including the recording the cost of newly acquired fixed assets, tracking existing fixed assets, recording depreciation, and accounting for the disposition of fixed assets.
Job Responsibilities
Lead by example and place Quality, Health & Safety, Security, and the protection of the Environment as core values while never intentionally placing employees, our processes, customers, or the communities in which we live and work at risk.
Record, track and calculate depreciation on all fixed assets.
Work with Operations on asset inventory reconciliation.
Reconcile fixed asset registers to the trial balance and prepare PPE roll forwards monthly.
Work closely with property tax consultants in preparing, reviewing, and accruing for property taxes.
Assist in the capital expenditure review and approval process.
Monitor capital projects reviewing spend vs budget details.
Job Requirements
Legally authorized to work in the United States, without restrictions.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is a plus. High school diploma required.
4+ years of recent experience in fixed asset accounting.
Strong work ethic; must be committed to success of organization.
Exceptional customer service skills.
Excellent problem-solving skills.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (specifically Excel and Word).
Experience with Deltek Vision preferred; ability to learn new software acceptable.
Experience with fixed asset software preferred.
Able to maintain confidentiality.
Highly organized with an attention to detail.
Able to work well independently and with others from various backgrounds.
Hybrid working conditions.
