Overview / Job Summary: 
An instructor's main responsibility is coordinating, planning, preparing, presenting, and evaluating classroom instruction and related activities. The instructor is responsible for performing assigned duties during the day, evening, or weekend on any College campus/off-campus locations as assigned. The related activities include instruction, instructional counseling, academic planning, serving on various committees (Industry Advocate Team, Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee, etc.) recruiting, and participating in local, state, regional, and national professional activities, and organizations as needed. An instructor performs all duties as directed by the Program Director, Dean, VP, or the President. 
 
Your day-to-day responsibilities will vary, but are not limited to:  
  • Creates and/or uploads an appropriate course syllabus for each course to the Learning Management System.  Keeps students informed and updated concerning course content, requirements, evaluation procedures and attendance requirements. Maintains industry credentials as appropriate to the teaching area.   Develops, revises, and/or recommends curriculum changes which meet the objectives of the course/program and improve student learning. Fully participates in, utilizes and submits when due program review information, assessment data, and course/college evaluations.   
This role involves keeping students informed about course content, requirements, evaluation procedures, and attendance policies, while maintaining accurate scholastic and attendance records. It includes conducting class and college evaluations, participating in program and curriculum review, and contributing to student learning outcomes initiatives. The role also requires submitting annual program reviews and assessment data, collaborating on budgets with the department Dean/Director, and engaging in student recruitment and retention activities such as high school visits and college events like Open House and Program Information Sessions.

Education:
  • Associate degree, Bachelor preferred from a regionally accredited college or university in the teaching discipline. 
Preferred Requirements: 
  • Current professional licensure or attendant certification that meets educational and occupational requirements of external accrediting agencies must be maintained during instructional period:   
    • Phlebotomy Technician – certification in phlebotomy, clinical laboratory science (MT or MLT), Nursing, Medical Assisting, or Paramedic. EKG Technician – 1 year prior healthcare experience, certification in health related field
preferred. Minimum of 1-year full time work experience in industry or part time equivalent of 1 years full time work experience.  3 years healthcare experience preferred. Thorough knowledge of proper safety and handling of materials used in the profession. Teaching experience in adult education, preferred. Current American Heart Association CPR Professional or For HealthCare Providers.  Instructor certification preferred.  Will be required to obtain (non-instructor) within six months of hire if not a current certification. Additional Requirements: 
  • Excellent verbal & written communication and interpersonal skills – must be able to work with students, technical and administrative personnel in a pleasant, professional, and efficient manner. Detail oriented with strong organizational skills. Ability to work independently with little or no supervision. Ability to use personal computer and software applications, strong Microsoft Office skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
