Sr. Power BI Specialist

Job Summary
The Senior Power BI Specialist will be part of our BI/Analytics Team and will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our Power BI platform. As the Power BI lead, this position will be responsible for architecting scalable, best-in-class Business Intelligence/Reporting solutions and processes. With a focus on driving data-driven decision-making, this resource will create innovative reports, views, dashboards, scorecards, visualizations, and mobile analytics apps using Power BI and Power Platform. The Power BI lead will drive requirements gathering, Data Profiling, developing KPIs, metrics, and adoption of the platform. This role will work closely with the IT, Sales, Finance, Marketing, Manufacturing, and Operations teams to develop data-informed reports, ultimately supporting successful business growth, operational efficiency, and sales acceleration.
Job Details/Responsibilities
Enterprise Power BI Reporting and Self-service Analytics
Develop visualizations, reports, dashboards, apps and KPI scorecards using Power BI. Work with Business closely for the requirements, system architecture, developing functional and technical documentation Power BI data modeling, reporting automation, workspace management, governance, source code management, and Power BI administration. Estimate level of effort and cost of infrastructure to support Power BI ecosystem. Troubleshooting and resolving issues related to performance, environments, monitoring and operability of Power BI reports. Implement row level security on data and understand application security layer models in Power BI Connect to different data sources, importing data, transforming data, building data flows and datasets for Power BI Properly understand the business requirements and work with Data Warehouse/Analytics team to develop dimensional models to support Power BI Provide demos to users and training to drive user adoption. Establish a governance framework for self-service analytics in Power BI to manage data, content, and security. Develop and maintain documentation on security policies, procedures, and guidelines related to Power BI workspaces Troubleshooting and resolving issues related to performance, environments, monitoring and operability of Power BI reports. Build and manage relationships with key stakeholders across business and IT organizations. Lead and mentor junior resources to meet solution requirements.

Ongoing Support & Maintenance:
Adheres to the policies, standards & baselines to ensure consistency Establish processes, methods, and tools for Enterprise Power BI Platform Apply processes and tools to support the SLA(s) established by the BI/Analytics team to the various business units. Monitor and report on the SLA adherence Respond to User Help Desk tickets for disposal of service requests from business users.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA)
Expert level hands-on Power BI with Dimensional Modeling, DAX and Visualization skills. Experience supporting self-service analytics with Power BI Thorough understanding of both Power BI desktop and the process of publishing reports to the Power BI service Demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing analytics solutions that are repeatable and scalable Experience in embedding dashboards/reports in web pages/ SharePoint Sites/intranet sites and an understanding of Power BI licensing models Experience in the successful migration of legacy reporting systems to Power BI Proficient in leveraging analytical thinking to transform complex data into insightful visuals and reports Sound knowledge of Data Integration techniques to develop, update, and monitor ETL Data processes in preparation for dashboards Extensive expertise in Power BI architectural design, encompassing a deep understanding of industry best practices Working knowledge of SQL with any RDBMS - SQL Server preferred. Experience building Business Analytics applications for any ERP system – SAP S/4 HANA preferred. Strong SQL skills experience with any relational Databases like Oracle, SQL Server etc., Knowledge of SQL, Scripting, Database, Data Warehouse methodologies, Data Management, Data Modeling and Performance Tuning Experience with other BI tools like Tableau, Qlik is a plus Able to work cross-functionally with many teams and multi-task with a sense of urgency. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and committed to meeting deadlines Strong desire to stay ahead of the trends and ability to research and apply emerging technologies. Excellent communication skills and able to work with business owners to develop and define key business requirements and to build data sets that answer those questions. Keen sense of maturity, judgment and diligence required to: Secure company’s financial interests Avoid exposures to expensive delays and cost overruns Ability to cope with stress and continuously changing demands/priorities
Qualifications/ Background Experiences
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields. Minimum 5 years of experience BI/Business Analytics Reporting for any ERP system using Power BI and other BI tools. Minimum 5 years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server or similar RDBMS Minimum 5 years’ experience in custom BI design, implementation, and maintenance Prior experience with Large and Complex BI Analytics implementation required Prior experience with SAP is highly preferred but at a minimum must have experience developing Business Analytics/BI System for any ERP system (., JD Edwards, Oracle, . Prior experience with any of the cloud data environments like Azure, AWS or GCP is preferred Prior experience with any SAAS BI Platform is preferred Prior experience in the medical device industry and/or pharmaceutical industry preferred-
