Purpose

The Supervisor of Propagation is responsible for a variety of functions that result in the health of the garden and team. The supervisor blends people into teams, creates strong morale, provides appropriate tasks and challenges, and provides constructive feedback to employees on all tasks related to GP1. Supervisors are responsible for keeping communication between multiple departments open.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

In charge of prioritization, completion, and documentation of all tasks performed by the GP1 farmers. Must keep constant supervision of GP1 Farmers to ensure all work is being done properly and efficiently in accordance with our standard operating procedures. In charge of all plant movements between veg rooms. Making sure new tables are scanned properly for the overall compliance of the facility. Facilitating the work of all employees by providing answers to any questions, as well as providing them with the tools/equipment they need to perform their tasks.11 Keep open lines of communication with other departments such as Irrigation, IPM, Operations, and Analytics to ensure optimum performance of the facility. Follow cadences for a variety of tasks involved with Mini Veg transplant, cloning, mom movements, loading plants for veg movements, and gardening.  Monitoring all systems making sure they are operational such as HVAC, CO2, Irrigation, and all lighting systems. Keeping GP1 production areas clean, and safe.

Working Conditions 

Able to move about a manufacturing warehouse environment. Able to use equipment such as ladders, lifts, rolling staircases, and climb scaffolding. Able to work in a warm and humid environment performing physically demanding tasks daily. Able to lift and move up to 30 pounds consistently. Able to bend and contort to fit in somewhat tight spaces. Hours can exceed 40 hours per week occasionally. Occasional travel by conventional means including aircraft, motor vehicle and within the region to other locations as required.

Compliance and Reporting

Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations. Ensure that workflow and work procedures are documented and that appropriate controls and audits are in place to ensure data and processing integrity.

Supervision

Provide technical leadership and guidance to team members to ensure daily work, productivity, and quality goals are met.  Conduct employee evaluations, coachings, and other documentation. Ensure effective and appropriate communication with team members and Advanced Farmers to increase team unity. Bring any and all safety concerns forward through the proper channels including and not limited to the Manager of Trim, Manager of Safety, Senior Manager of Production, or Director of Operations.

Other Duties 

Other duties as assigned, including, but not limited to assisting other departments to help facilitate the additional and/or supplemental work such harvesting, trimming, packaging, cleaning and basic maintenance as needed throughout the facility.

Work Expectations

Six months GP1 experience is required. Demonstrated ability to work in a focused, quick, and efficient manner as both an individual and team contributor. Demonstrated ability to follow directions and take responsibility for multiple assignments independently and with the team. Demonstrated ability to delegate tasks, and hold employees accountable.  Knowledge of Standard Operating Procedures as well as process requirements and controls. Demonstrated ability to contribute to a culture of professionalism. Demonstrated oral communication capabilities.  Knowledge of local, state and federal laws relating to key areas of responsibility.  Must be able to secure appropriate work credentials from the Colorado Department of Revenue (MED).  Must be 21 and over due to local and state law

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent required.
