POSITION OVERVIEW

dormakaba is seeking a first shift (6AM – 2:30PM) Machinist I based Indianapolis, IN. This person will be responsible for fabricating, repairing, and assembling metal parts by operating mechanical equipment. This role typically involves using blueprints and design sketches to ensure the proper dimensions and tolerance levels of the finished product. 

HOURLY HIRING RANGE: $18.56/hr-23.00/hr plus mandatory overtime as needed (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data). WHAT YOU WILL DO

Follow operation instructions Operate machine safely and communicate any problems which arise to the supervisor/lead person.  Monitor, maintain, weigh, and safely add chemicals as required  Meet production standards Monitor the quality of work per Quality Assurance Inspection Procedure (QAIP).  Daily 5S/housekeeping. 

WHAT WE REQUIRE

High school diploma or equivalent 

WHAT WE PREFER

Manufacturing experience preferred  Basic understanding of shop math & blueprint reading/comprehension  GDT preferred.  SAP or MRP system knowledge. Lean skills.  Computer proficiency.
