Position Summary
Virtual teachers are content experts who instruct using only the best practices to ensure high levels of student success for our diverse student body. Qualifications
Education/Certification:
Completed Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or universityValid Texas Teacher Certification in your area of instructionExperience
Experience with mastery-based or individualized learning approaches to student education (Preferred) 2-5 years of teaching experience in a Texas Public School2-5 years of virtual teaching experience (Preferred)Have two or more years of documented experience teaching online courses for students in Grades 3-12, AND successfully completed continuing professional development specific to online learning every three years (Preferred)Additional requirements:

Take ownership of the knowledge of students and commit to stretching students’ cognitive capacitiesUse accomplished pedagogical expertise to execute lessons aligned to state standards while relating to and anticipating student needs through progress monitoringUse differentiate instruction to personalize learning and proactively minimize confusion or disengagementDeliver instruction to generate further student inquiry to promote problem-solving, real-world application, and high order thinkingEstablish an overwhelmingly positive class climate so regardless of what a student may be dealing with personally, your classroom is an emotional and social oasisUtilize analytical and reflective method for formal and informal student dataDisplay mutual respect with students while maintaining an emotionally safe and supportive learning environmentMaintain knowledge of the accommodations and modifications to be implemented in an IEP or 504 planImplement any accommodations and modifications through the development of appropriate assignments and assessmentsPartner with special educators to determine appropriate implementation of accommodations and modifications for specific content standardsComply with the Texas Educator Code of Ethics, the ResponsiveEd Employee Handbook, the ResponsiveEd Student-Parent Handbook, administrative directives and other manuals and procedures documentsServe as a test administrator during all state testing examination windows and district assessment testing as needed; which may require overnight travel.
