The CFO will be responsible for significantly enhancing the financial infrastructure (people, process and systems) and will lead the FP&A, Accounting, Treasury, Financial Operations,and Tax teams. 

The ideal CFO will be a strategic contributor to company direction and growth and must possess experience in several critical areas. The CFO will be adept in stakeholder management and an articulate internal and external communicator. They will have the ability to explain complex issues concisely and answer questions with appropriate detail and understanding. They will possess prior experience as a senior finance leader (ideally as CFO) of a portfolio company owned by a private equity or growth equity firm and will have a proven track record of leading successful exits and creating value creation plans. They will have significant FP&A experience in areas such as supporting, developing, and driving robust predictive/forward looking finance metrics, reporting, and control processes and KPIs to enable forecasting, capacityutilization, and other core business functionality. Finally, the CFO will possess meaningful experience in debt facility/cash flow management with an emphasis on managing debt facilities, cash flow, leverage, cost structures, and business scaling.

This role requires strong communication, leadership, and executive presence when representing the firm with customers, investors, employees, and other key counterparties. The CFO will work hand in hand with all other executives to push for broader, deeper strategic thinking and must be able to deliver compelling ideas in a room with some of the industry’s most experienced and innovative executives. 

Position Summary: 

Serve as a strategic financial and operational business advisor to the Chief Executive Officer and other members of the senior management team on topics including profitability, capital structure, capital allocation, pricing, reinvestment, staffing, and strategic growth plans. 

Play a key role in managing, interpreting, communicating, and refining the Company’s financial structure and balance sheet management in partnership with the Board and private equity partners. Serve as a lead interface with the financial community. 

Support the development of a continuous improvement operating model, helping the company find operational efficiencies in concert with other key executives. Anticipate and then engage proactively in ongoing operational and organizational initiatives to drive top-line growth and profitability improvements and identify opportunities to continually improve the overall business financially. 

Manage the finance and accounting functions. Ensure the fiscal integrity of the Company’s business through the enhancement and management of accounting systems and controls. Monitor controls and ensure a strong control environment. 

Evolve the business intelligence platform in the organization, including refining the tracking of core KPIs, trends, and forecasts and P&Ls. Deliver high quality financial analysis (performance metrics, flash reports, etc.) to provide context and insight to decision makers across the Company. 

Provide leadership in the recruitment, training and development of strong financial talent to ensure the organization has a high level of performance and productivity. Work with the organization to provide effective leadership, mentorship, and coaching that fosters an environment of problem solving, efficiency, improved business practices and attracts and retains superior financial talent.

Pivotal Experience and Expertise:

Strategic CFO/Business Partner : A strong business-driven “operational CFO.” Proven experience and capable of operating as an effective business partner to a CEO and leadership team. Forward-looking strategy, consultative, and planning orientation. Results- and delivery-driven. Ability to empower team members, provide guidance and “jump in and out” of businesses with ease. Experience optimizing finance processes through AI. 

Stakeholder Management : An articulate internal and external communicator, both verbally and in writing, with an ability to explain complex issues concisely and answer questions with appropriate detail and understanding. Must be able to tell the story in addition to providing insightful financial reporting that captures the numbers. Must have ability to build trust and rapport with broad investor group comprised of world-class strategic investors. 

PE Sponsor-Backed Experience : Experience as a senior finance leader (ideally as CFO) of a portfolio company owned by a private equity or growth equity firm and with a proven track record of leading successful exits and creating value creation plans. Must be able to adeptly manage strategic investors and sponsors and understand their lens on value creation. Experience successfully managing an exit process including working with bankers, accountants, and potential investors. Can anticipate questions from investors and has built reporting to address areas of likely diligence. 

FP&A Acumen : Experience in supporting, developing, and driving robust predictive/forward looking finance metrics, reporting, and control processes and KPIs to enable forecasting, capacityutilization, and other core business functionality. Ability to “see the field” of the business and bring insights and focus the stakeholders and team on optimizing financial performance, critical business metrics, and value creation levers. CFO needs to be engaged in the core operations enough to connect the dots and help the team find improvement opportunities in structure or approach. 

Debt Facility/Cash Flow Management Experience : Meaningful, hands-on experience with various transformative initiatives with an emphasis on managing debt facilities, cash flow, leverage, cost structures, and business scaling. Ability to operate with speed and efficiency. 

Industry & Sector Experience and Influence : Significant experience in a technology-enabled services or software/SaaS environment is ideal. Candidates may also have experience in other sectors, such as financial services, business services, or professional services. 

Team Building/Leadership : A decisive leader who sets high standards and drives performance. The ability to motivate, inspire, engage, and develop a financial organization to achieve results. Has the ability to form trusted relationships with other Senior Leadership and is widely respected as a manager of culture and talent.

Business/Commercial/Technology Orientation : Deep understanding of and experience optimizing business operations (including cost management experience) and growth initiatives. Thinks like a business professional first and a finance professional second. Proactively seeks ways to improve processes and implement best-in-class solutions, raising the quality and productivity of the finance teams in a calculated way. Appreciation of technology and experience selecting and implementing key systems to enhance efficiencies, including through times of high growth.
