Position Description: We are looking for an Office Technician to join our Construction Team in our Michigan offices. Candidates must have at least three years' of related experience, a High School Diploma, MDOT certified Office Technician and prior MDOT document experience or training. Field Manager experience and a valid driver's license is also required. Strong written and verbal communication skills/coordination skills are critical along with computer proficiency. 

Typical responsibilities include:

Set-up and maintain complete project files in FieldManager and ProjectWise Track material usage in accordance with the contractors' Material Source Lists in FieldManager and ProjectWise Review/edit Inspector Daily Reports in FieldManager and ProjectWise Interpret project plans, specifications, and Special Provisions. Prepare draft Contract Modifications Review contractor payrolls and verify prevailing wage (Davis/Bacon) on MDOT and federally funded projects in LCPTracker Prepare biweekly estimates in FieldManager Review contractor payments to subcontractors in MERS Prepare certification letters, substantial completion letters, final inspections letters. Write letters to contractors/owners and expedite resolution for various issues ( deficiency lists) Assist in the preparation of proposals Prepare project status and other reports Prepare project records for MDOT audits and/or other agencies, including internal project self-audits Monitor task budgets and progress Assist Project Managers with duties as assigned Attend client, public, project and staff meetings including client progress, plan review, pre-construction, etc. Attend seminars and/or training classes Maintain excellent client relations Maintain a safe working environment

Education:

High School Diploma

Skills/Experience:

Minimum of three years of experience with FieldManager MDOT Certified Office Technician Prior MDOT document experience/training Computer proficient Valid driver's license
