Description

·Works with multi-disciplinary staff assisting individuals with vocational, social, and life skills on site and in the community.

·Works in the milieu and with individuals, leads groups, and assists running various Waverley Place activities.

·Meets one on one with members to provide support around member’s mental health recovery process while setting appropriate limits and professional boundaries.

·Receives one on one on a weekly basis supervision from program supervisory staff to provide guidance and support to the peer counselor as he/she interfaces with members.

·Participates in weekly team meetings to provide updates, goals and action plans of members.

·Peer Counselor has access to member’s personal history, therefore CONFIDENTIALITY is a must.

·Individually leads/facilitates groups to provide support and guidance to members.

·Uses his/her own recovery experience as a framework to understand and support members in their own recovery journey and process his/her own recovery experience in a professional way, consistently observing appropriate limits/boundaries including those supported by the Peer Specialist certification training and the Waverley Place Program to preserve and protect the staff/member relationship.

·Complete required documentation in a timely fashion.

·Inspire hope by modeling personal responsibility, self-advocacy and wellness.
