SUMMARY STATEMENTRegistered Apprenticeship Adjuncts will teach students the related technical instruction component for their corresponding trade of record. RA Adjuncts with related experience, expertise, and the ability to effectively instruct are needed in the areas of carpentry, electrical, HVAC, or plumbing. Adjuncts will provide instruction to support students in the classroom, lead hands-on instruction safely in training lab, and accurately track apprentice attendance and grading. Core requirements for RA Adjuncts would include: ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPSReports directly to WSCE Technology/Trades program manager and related trades association. ESSENTIAL DUTIESProvide instruction on content related to relevant skilled trade.
    • Provide a safe lab environment for students operating equipment and using materials.
    • Instruct students on process and importance of performing tasks safely on a construction site.
    • Administer exams as specified in the craft curriculum; maintain and record grades electronically.
    • Monitor and report any technology or equipment related issues that impact instruction and student success.
    • Use email to communicate and Microsoft Office applications for instruction.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Completion of a Registered Apprenticeship program and a Journeyman or Master license in their specific craft.
  • Experience in the construction trade as a foreman, inspector or other team lead.
