SUMMARY

BSPS, a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation is currently seeking a qualified Maintenance Carpenter for the 29 Palms BOS contract at 29 palms California. This individual will perform carpentry maintenance work as needed to meet the contractual requirements.

Responsibilities

The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed for this position and are not intended to reflect all duties performed within the job. Other duties may be assigned.

1) Constructs and repairs structural woodwork and metal equipment in establishment, working from blueprints, drawings, or oral instructions. 2) Builds, repairs and installs counters, cabinets, benches, partitions, floors, doors, building framework and trim, using carpenters handtools power tools. 3) Installs glass in windows, doors and partitions. Comfortable with routine plumbing electrical and mechanical repairs Installation of walls and floors doorways stairways windows and window frames partitions fixtures and roofs Ability to workup and read blueprints Can development computer sketches of work with estimated labor and material costs Skilled use of needed tools and resources Maintained and updated knowledge of techniques tools and materials to ensure high standard of execution with every project

Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for bending, stooping, sitting, walking or standing for prolonged periods of time; most of time is spent outdoors working in a desert climate environment. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Job is performed mostly outdoors and in and out of building on-site with some office setting work performed.

No supervisory responsibilities.

As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain the appropriate clearance levels required and be able to obtain access to military installations.
