Multipurpose Paraprofessional

POSITION SUMMARY

: Substitute for classroom teachers or instructional paraprofessionals Assist in the campus office as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Certification:

Must have completed at least two years of study at an institution of higher education; (have completed at least 30 college hours)  or Obtained an associate’s (or higher) degree Valid Texas Educational Aide Certificate or be willing to obtain upon hire and complete fingerprinting requirements 

Special Knowledge/Skills :

Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions Good interpersonal skills Ability to work well with students and staff

Experience:

Some experience working with children

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Instructional Support:

Substitute for a classroom teacher or instructional paraprofessional  Assist with work assignments Maintain a neat and orderly classroom  Assist with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment  Assist teachers with administrative records and prepare required reports 

Student Management:

Conduct instructional exercises assigned by the teacher, work with individual students or small groups Supervise students throughout the school day, inside and outside the classroom (lunchroom, bus, and playground) Keep the teacher informed of the special needs or problems of individual students Assist in the campus office  Participate in staff development training programs to improve job performance Participate in faculty meetings and special events  Other duties as assigned
