Position Information Position Title Summer Engineering Intern Job Description Performing a wide range of non-technical maintenance – Maintaining work orders – Ability to do tasks as assigned in an efficient and timely manner with little supervision May preform general maintenance tasks Monitors, maintains, and performs standard repairs to building electrical facilities and systems, such as bulbs, fixtures, switches, photo cells, and outlets; assists licensed electricians with non-technical repairs as appropriate Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices Monitors and performs non-technical maintenance of plumbing systems, to include standard repair of leaking fixtures, cleaning obstructed waste lines, installing water coolers, and/or preforming non-technical modifications to plumbing and water supply systems; assists licensed plumbers, as appropriate Preforms carpentry maintenance tasks including routine sheetrock/drywall installation and /or repair, window replacement, cabinet and countertop replacement, painting and texturing, and door and hardware installation; paints interior and exterior finishes as appropriate Full Time/Part Time Temp, Part Time If part time, projected hours (per week) 25 Organizational Division Facilities Div Campus Location Council Bluffs Required Qualifications Ability to pass a background check, have a valid U.S Driver’s License and a good driving record Ability to pass a drug screen & pre-employment physical if applicable Wear/use PPE at all times when needed Preferred Qualifications High school diploma or GED Skill in the use of computers, preferably in a PC, Windows-based operating environment Work in a cooperative manner with management, co-workers, internal/external customers and vendors Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures, including Lockout/Tag out Physical Demands Must be able to lift at least 50lbs Must be able to move objects, and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue Constant movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination and stamina Work involves exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, toxic chemicals, biohazardous materials, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and/or loud noises Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions Work is frequently done in outdoor weather conditions; rain, snow, sun, wind and other forms of weather Salary $10.00 Benefits Summary Click here for more information on benefits and perks.
