POSITION SUMMARY

As a Product Developer, you play a crucial role in identifying, evaluating, and establishing partnerships with suppliers to ensure the timely and cost-effective procurement of quality materials for Techstyles Sportswear apparel. This position requires BILLINGUAL, Mandarin/English, fashion view support, technical support during fittings, a strategic approach to supplier relationship management, and negotiation skills.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage all sample development for apparel and drinkware.
  • Work directly with domestic and overseas vendors for samples, TOP approvals, and delivery dates.
  • Communicate with managers/vendors for all development and approvals.
  • Proficient garment measurement skills.
  • Oversee trim/Labels and all other aspects of development.
  • Approve bulk fabrics/garments for production to avoid delays in bulk.
  • Able to review and analyze basic fabric comparisons, including fabric punching.
  • Manage the sample process, communicate, and solve fabric, accessories, and technical issues.
  • Ensure photo shoot samples and SMS are sent on time.
  • Assist team with third-party translations.
  • Update proprietary inventory/data system, Impress.
  • Monitor critical path of shipments and solve potential delay issues before they impact our end customers.
  • Work closely with the president on product development and fitting.
  • Communicate with outsourced suppliers, push production deadlines, and solve issues.
  • Oversee trim/Labels and all other aspects of development.
  • Source new suppliers and arrange meetings.
  • Work directly with Freight Forwarder and customs broker for the direct import products-insure correct duty/freight cost/tariffs.
  • Complete other tasks and work arrangements assigned by superior. .

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL

  • Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Attention to detail
  • Activewear/sportswear experience is a big plus.
  • Excellent eye for colors while fitting and measurements using measuring tapes
  • Good command of written English and Mandarin Chinese & Basic spoken English is necessary.
  • A good sense of timeline coordination and scheduling.
  • Ownership of tasks with a mission-focused approach.
  • Excellent at maintaining multitasking and execution abilities under tight deadlines.
  • Able to recognize apparel categories, production methods, and levels of effort during production.
  • Excellent organizational and follow-up skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Overseeing the prototype sampling process.
  • Must be able to identify colors accurately.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS       

  • Demonstrated ability to work with hands to support fittings and garment measuring·        
  • Must be able to work under pressure.
  • Must be able to bend, squat and twist while assisting models during fittings.
