Job Description

Scope: The Chief Engineer of Systems Engineering within the Central & Digital Engineering Department is responsible for defining strategy, standards, processes, and training to drive Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Digital Transformation at Elbit America for the Systems Engineering domain. Represents the domain in various technical engagements, approves process tailoring, and ensures standard processes are followed. The Chief Engineer may lead teams directly or indirectly to achieve world-class business outcomes.

This will be a #Hybrid position (T, W, TH in office) but the applicant must be local to one of these locations: Fort Worth, TX, Merrimack, NH or Roanoke, VA. Relocation assistance would be available.

Responsibilities & Tasks:

Develop and deliver the strategic plan for domain, ensuring alignment with the product strategy where applicable. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish process excellence and implement MBSE and Digital Engineering capabilities. Analyze engineering requirements and define digitally transformed processes to achieve world-class outcomes. Support project planning, risk assessment, and effectively communicate risks and opportunities Identify and address needs within the domain, fostering a collaborative team environment. Instill a culture of accountability and engineering excellence, observing performance and adjusting processes accordingly. Eliminate impediments and enhance agility within the development process. Mentor junior engineers and stay updated on industry standards and emerging technologies.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) or relevant technical discipline 15+ years of professional experience Ability to obtain a US DOD Secret Level Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics or Mathematics 8+ years of professional experience within Aerospace and/or Defense Industry INCOSE Systems Engineering Professional Certification (CSEP)

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required :

Experience and demonstrated proficiency in performing Systems Engineering activities (architecture development, requirement development, trade studies, design reviews, verification, integration, test, qualification, sustainment, etc.) to develop advanced Aerospace and Defense products. Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, team leadership skills, and ability to lead through influence. Expertise in requirement development and management in DOORS/Jama Expertise and demonstrated proficiency in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methods and tools (Cameo preferred). Experience with configuration management, data management, and product lifecycle management Experience implementing enterprise-wide Model Based Systems Engineering concepts and principles and transforming the culture Experience with developing products to Open Architectures (MOSA, SOSA, FACE, GCIA, WOSA, etc.) standards Experience with Government Reference Architectures Strong written and verbal communication skills and experience briefing key stakeholders

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Preferred:

Experience collaborating with cross-functional design and production teams in a Digital Engineering Ecosystem Experience using 3DEXPERIENCE as a Digital Engineering Backbone and Product Lifecycle Management system Experience performing Virtual Verification of requirements Experience performing modeling and simulation in ANSYS/MATLAB Expertise in strategic planning, roadmap development, product/solution architecture, business capture, proposal, IMS development, agile processes, risk & opportunity management, earned value management, and project execution. Experience with EMD, Production, and Sustainment programs
