Overview

The Senior Finance Analyst will support the technology finance team and the overall URBN Technology department for URBN (Shared Services). As a member of the team, you will report to the Senior IT Finance Manager. This role requires experience executing accounting and financial concepts, a genuine curiosity to learn technology concepts, ability to work in ambiguity, and an exceptional attention to detail. The candidate should be highly organized, comfortable owning key areas, and have the skill to analyze the downstream impacts of technology changes from a finance perspective. Comfort gathering information via virtual and in-person meetings is necessary. An ability to see detail and maintain data integrity while also viewing the wider picture is key.

Responsibilities

Manage global contract expenses across several cost centers, including but not limited to: forecasting and managing current fiscal year costs to budget; performing scheduled and ad hoc contracts reporting; completing the month-end reconciliation process for various technology contract portfolios; managing sales tax liability assessment process for contracts; communicating past-due and upcoming renewal dates to contract owners on a monthly basis; logging all new contracts and amendments into tracking document and contracts repository; performing various other contract activities, both ad hoc and recurring. Create accurate and complete budgets for various contracts portfolios for each upcoming fiscal year. Perform analysis and provide clear documentation on projections in all areas. Lead meetings that partner with technology leadership and key stakeholders to produce budget projections. Present proposed budget to the CIO and key stakeholders. Lead monthly P&L review meeting with CTO and CIO and assemble monthly P&L report to be presented in that meeting. Oversee finance/billing aspects of new technology rollouts when tasked, ensuring any recurring billing is accurate and financial impacts of any service eliminations/decommissions are fully realized. Invoice processing and vendor management for technology department, emphasis on global contracts. Review and audit invoices, identify errors, log disputes with vendors when necessary, and see through to resolution. Liaise with URBN technology expense owners on any changes to services, vendors, etc. and the financial impact of these changes. Develop and manage relationships with key stakeholders within and outside of technology department; hold recurring and ad hoc meetings with stakeholders as needed. Perform general recurring and ad hoc financial analysis and reporting activities for URBN Technology department.

Qualifications

3-5 years of experience in Finance or Accounting preferred, ideally in a fast, dynamic environment Highly detail oriented with strong organizational & critical thinking skills Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively across responsibilities Strong written and verbal communication skills Must possess an aptitude and curiosity for learning new technical concepts and the URBN business

Job Skills

Experience in performing variance analysis Experience in expense forecasting and budgeting Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel Contract management experience a plus Experience with Oracle Financials (WebCenter, EBS, Hyperion) and MicroStrategy a plus

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting
